If you have created a backup of your phone with TWRP, you can get all your apps and data back without losing anything. If you are curious in twisting and customizing your phone by installing various zips, mods or modules, anytime your phone might get stuck in boot loop if you flash incompatible, incorrect or corrupted ones. So, Creating a TWRP backup is must for restoring your device without losing anything.
If you haven't created a TWRP backup before, you cannot get any data back if your device gets stuck in bootloop, deleted system files, etc. But if you have done that before, you can restore them easily in few steps.
To restore the backup you have created with TWRP, follow these steps:
- First of all, reboot your device into recovery mode. This process differs depending upon your device. If you are unknown how to reboot your device to recovery mode, Click here to see a tutorial on how to reboot your device to recovery mode.
- After rebooting your device to Recovery Mode, click on Restore.

- After that, click on Select Storage and choose the storage where you have backed up your data. Your backup will be inside the TWRP folder in the root of your drive.

- After you select the correct storage, there appears a list of backups. If you can't see list as shown in the image, check the following points:
- Make sure you have choosen the correct storage.
- You cannot restore the backup of another device. The data you want to restore should be of the same device you want to restore.
- Make sure there is a backup to restore on your storage.
- Check there is a directory TWRP > BACKUPS > (Your Device Serial Number) > (Backed Up Folders List). When you open that folder, you would see files with .win, .win.md5 extensions.
- If you can't find these, you might not have backed up there, choosen a wrong storage deleted the backup mistakenly or renamed or moved the folders.
- After you select a backup, there appears a list of items what you have backed up. Choose what partitions you want to restore and swipe ▶▶▶ on Swipe to Restore area. Then the restore process will soon begin.

- It will take few minutes to restore your data depending upon the backup size. Checking Enable MD5 Verification of Backup Files will take more time to restore your data as it need to verify the md5 of the every partition before restoring. Wait patiently during during the restore period.

- After your Restore is complete, you can simply go back and click Reboot > System.
In case if you see a window like this, tap on Do Not Install. If your phone is already rooted with Magisk and you swipe, there might appear problems in your phone. So, tap Do Not Install. If your phone is not rooted and want to root it, skip this, you can manually install official and latest SuperSU rather than provided by TWRP.

- After rebooting, you can use your phone. You will everything like apps, settings, your data, etc. same as during the backup time.
By using TWRP, you can backup and restore your entire device without losing any user data and apps. If you have made a TWRP backup before, it'll be a great chance to bring back your data and apps if your phone gets bootloop, mistakenly deleted system files or flashed incorrect/ corrupted zip. So, it will be very useful in making a TWRP backup if you are curious in twisting your phone, installing various zips and mods because such things can lead to errors on your device, bootloop, etc. So, make a TWRP Backup of your phone.
