How to deactivate your Instagram account temporarily?

Deactivate Instagram Account

If you want to take a short break from using Instagram, you can simply deactivate it. If you deactivate your Instagram Account, you can easily reactivate it by entering the correct Username and Password. After you deactivate (disable) your account, your profile, photos, videos, likes, comments, username, your name on your following's followers, etc. will be temporarily hidden unless you reactivate your account.


Prerequisite to deactivate your account.

  1. You must know the Username and Password of the account you are going to deactivate.
  2. You cannot deactivate your account with Instagram app, so, you need to be logged into Instagram with your browser on your Mobile or PC.

Steps to deactivate your Instagram Account.

  1. Login your Instagram Account in the browser which you want to deactivate.
  2. Once you are logged in with a account you are going to deactivate, click on the profile icon.

  3. Click on the Edit Profile button.

  4. After you click on Edit Profile, scroll down to bottom to find an option Temporarily disable my account.

  5. After you click on Temporarily disable my account, you will come to a new page where you need to do 3 things to proceed ahead to deactivate your account.
    1. Choose a reason why you are deactivating your account.
    2. Enter your Instagram Password.
    3. Click on Temporarily disable account.
    Choose Reason Enter Password and Click Deactivate
  6. After pressing the button, it will give you last warning, whether are you sure want to disable your account. Click on Yes and your account will be disabled successfully and redirected to login page.

Conclusion

Following the above steps, your Instagram Account is successfully deactivated. You can login to your Instagram account by entering correct Username and Password to reactivate it.
